"Frame Work Revisions" by R.X. Bertoldi (Accoustic Artist from Seattle, WA)

R.X. Bertoldi serves up some great modern Folk/Blues music on his latest CD, "Frame Work Revisions." Bertoldi is a one man show as he plays acoustic guitar and harmonica and brings it all together with his vocals. Although this album was recorded live at an intimate bar setting, you can hear a nice dynamic balance as the production is crisp and clean with warm and friendly ambiance. The opener, "Guiding Light," is a testament of Bertoldi's terrific musicianship as he draws you in with his sincere and heartfelt voice. Generous helpings of Blues on the songs, "Built for Comfort" and "Natural Fools" are dished out as Bertoldi confidently alternates between strong and solid vocals and catchy harmonica solos. If you're looking for modern acoustic Folk/Blues music with originals and well known covers, then you will really enjoy the compositions on, "Frame Work Revisions."

"Walk Humbly" by Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising (Bluegrass Artist from Oregon)

"Walk Humbly" is the most recent album from Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising. It is a Christian music album that professes faith and love through the medium of bluegrass music. "Cast The First Stone" has a pleasantly rambling backwoods sound to it with crystal clear and spiritually inspiring lyrics. "I Ain't Afraid To Die" is a playful and swiftly paced bluegrass number with a message that if one has faith, death will no longer be a fear. "Faith Hope Bluegrass Music" is the song that best projects what this band is about, in a lively song that relies just on the strings of a guitar and mandolin with wonderful vocals/harmonies. This album is a collection of beautiful sounding traditional bluegrass songs that stand up on their own with the ever-present addition of a loving Christian message. If Christian music and bluegrass are two things you enjoy, then "Walk Humbly" is an album that needs to be in your collection immediately.
